A finely tuned machine…

Max’s* career path was clear.

He paid his dues and sacrificed personal time.

Recently, his boss told him that his staff doesn’t like his management style.

Simultaneously, he noticed the new guy was getting lots of attention and accolades.

But the road is slippery…

Max is in line for a promotion to the position he has always wanted.

Well, he thought he wanted the new position. Now, his nights are filled with worry about keeping his current position.

It was time to talk to someone who can help him clarify what he wanted and how to get there.

Anna* wonders, “Is this all there is?”

She was always a hard worker who had a creative side.

A few years ago, she took her idea to the market – and it took off.

She was able to leave her job, start her own company and soon needed to hire staff.

Anna’s company was doing better than she expected…

But she was too tired for self-care or date nights.

She felt torn between the demands of her family and her company.

She wondered if another cup of coffee would give her the energy she needed to keep everyone happy.

Anna needed assistance to design a realistic plan that would include time for herself and her family.

Samantha’s*life was perfect – until it wasn’t.

She had married her soulmate Adam*, had a great job, and her kids were doing well.

Then her mother would call.

Samantha was always the one her mom called when she needed something.

She had siblings, but they were too busy to help.

Sam had just taken a new job which was very demanding.

She and her husband shared shifts getting the kids to games and dance activities.

Saying, “No,” would help, but the anticipated guilt afterwards was an expensive solution.

She felt like she was in a no-win situation.

She recognized that she needed someone to help her change her no-win situation into a win-win situation.

Jack* had a plan, but his fears kept him back.

The alarm rang for Jack to get up for work.

Another sleepless night had been spent worrying over what he said or did the day before.

All day at work, he kept second guessing himself.

Perhaps a fresh start was the answer…

When he forgot to reprimand himself for something, his boss called him on it.

Jack was edgy all day.

He thought of getting a new job; maybe that was the answer.

Talking through his “geographical cure” plan in a safe space, clarified the challenges and possibilities of his present position.

*Each of these stories is a composite example of many clients to help you consider the benefits of coaching and therapy.

Talk to a professional who can help you understand your map of the world.

Max and Anna wanted to feel empowered at work and have more balanced lives.

Samantha and Jack needed to resolve their confusion, pain, and anxiety.

They were following their old maps for communicating to themselves and others which kept them stuck in their limiting beliefs.

They wanted to move forward, but their old maps kept them encircled in negative thoughts and feelings.

Therapy focuses on healing and moving forward to the self you want to be. Coaching focuses on achieving goals and developing your potential.

Talk to a professional who respects your thoughts, feelings, and goals and can help you understand what gets in your way.

With these new awarenesses, you become more resourceful and learn new strategies to update your map and more easily get to your destination.

Working Together

Our work together starts with clarifying the outcome you want and understanding what stops you from getting there.

You will update and refine old models of operation and add new resources to achieve your objectives.

This learning process leaves you with a compass to use when new outcomes are needed and/or your current map needs another destination added.

As you become more in tune with yourself,
you can update or create a new map
to follow to your destination.

Finding your authenticity allows your self-esteem and confidence to grow.

Then, as you add tools to your toolbox from our work, managing your feelings will get better.

Becoming your best self is our goal.

Hi, I’m Mary Jo Peterson.

My mission is to help you live the life you want.

What do you want? Do thoughts and feelings from the past interrupt your current life? Or… do you want to feel more in alignment with your true North?

As a seasoned professional, I can help with both.

As we talk, you will learn that some of your thoughts and behavior patterns are on automatic pilot. You’ve had them so long that you think this is who you are. Examining them, you have the option of keeping what works, letting go of what doesn’t, and adding new thoughts and behaviors as needed to get your outcomes.

Doing the Work. Getting the Results.

Max – Identified as a Leader

Through coaching, Max clarified his career goals.

He learned new ways to communicate with his staff, creating team spirit and increasing motivation.

His team’s current project created greater efficiency in the work process.

His boss told him he hadn’t been sure he had the leadership ability needed to move forward, but the recent changes demonstrated that he had the skills to step into his new position.

Anna – A More Fulfilled, Balanced Life

When Anna’s values and criteria were clarified, she had the foundation for her life.

This process was the template for her personal and business priorities.

Knowing when she could say, “Yes,” “No,” or “Who else can help get this done?” made her action plans easier to complete.

Developing clarity in her personal and professional life enabled her staff to feel more invested and committed.

Samantha – Empowered and Happy

Old patterns, limiting beliefs, and unresolved feelings from the past had interfered with Samantha’s ability to stay focused on what was important to her.

The result of this process was an ability to have a more balanced and authentic life.

Her siblings are still a work in progress, but she can set healthy boundaries now.

While she still has days of being overwhelmed, she now has strategies to better manage her life and feelings, giving her more peace.

Jack – A Healthy Sense of Self

The voice of Jack’s critic sometimes came from the present or the past with his dad.

He learned to identify what was in his control and, when appropriate, fixed the problems that were his responsibilities.

For the rest, he let go of or created an action plan with his boss, and advocated for himself effectively and cooperatively when appropriate.

Jack is still not sure if he wants to stay with his current company, but his reason now is the lack of opportunity for advancement.

Looking at your language and behavior patterns creates the foundation for designing and/or updating your map to bring you to a new destination.
